Picentia Short Film Festival 2020, competition opened

First taste of the Picentia Short Film Festival, the international short film event which will reach its fourth edition this year. From January 7th to July 12th, filmmakers from all over the world will be able to register for the pre-selection phase of the event through the international platform FilmFreeWay. Seven in all the sections of the competition provided: confirmed from last year Drama & Social, Comedy & Comic, Horror & Thriller, Past & Future and Music Video. This year's main novelty is the Green & Nature section - in collaboration with Legambiente -, which will focus on the environmental theme with the related changes, trying hard to raise awareness, and the extension of the Docs category to Docs & Discovery, dedicated to the story and to discover the peculiarities of our planet. Four laurels will decree the laurels: the technical jury will be nominated by the artistic direction and will decree a winner for each section; the popular jury will vote in the hall evening after evening and the press jury, composed of eminent pens from the cultural sector, will award a motivated honorable mention. The Green & Nature section will feature a mixed jury made up of representatives chosen half by Legambiente and half by the board according to what was established by the protocol signed during the last edition of the event. Last year's artistic direction was confirmed, one of the youngest in Italy (twenty-three years on average) made up of Antonio Palo, Luca Capacchione and Erica De Lisio. "We are in the second year of the planned three-year program - the three declare - The fourth year of Picentia will be full of news, surprises and proposals that will be revealed during the work. Our goal - they add - is always the same: to artistically give space to those who do not have space and to create jobs, albeit to a limited extent. Our territory, Campania, Salerno, needs high culture and employment and Picentia has been placing itself as a solid proposal for a mix of these for four years ". In the third edition, in five days of the event, two hundred and fifty-one short films from forty different countries, numerous prominent personalities from the academic, cultural, cinematographic and press sectors took part.
